Apple believes the future is wireless. The Apple AirPods are a great example of that. The bluetooth connection is strong within 45 - 50 feet. AirPods sense when they’re in your ear and automatically stop playing when removed.

People need to calm down about Apple ditching the headphone jack!
I am not really sure why people are so hung up on Apple ditching the headphone jack. Unless one lives under a rock, one cannot help but notice that more and more headphone brands -- JayBird, Beats, Sennheiser, Plantronics, et cetera -- have been going Bluetooth well before the iPhone 7 came out. Pay attention, people. This just reminds me of when Apple refused to support Adobe Flash on iOS which eventually and ultimately killed Flash online. So calm down, people. There are bigger problems in the world than a smartphone without a headphone jack. Fantastic review, by the way.

@LordOfTheRings: The thing with people is that they like to complain. This will die down. I'm pretty sure, all other phone manufacturers like Samsung will follow suite.
